Use Training Bites to Revisit Content

As a revisit technique, the training department at BD in Holdrege, Neb., uses "training bites." Each week, a question is submitted by participants or trainers. The question or "bite" is answered by an associate trainer who verifies the information with either documents or a best practice method, said Tammy Hillebrand, associate trainer at BD Medical. One question might be "how do I know which operations I'm certified on?" It allows employees an opportunity to get their questions answered, get clarification on policies and procedures, provide more information and eliminate inconsistencies.

"It does get them talking and thinking about ideas to share," Hillebrand said. The trainers have expanded "advertising to get more participation."

The person who submitted is given credit on the poster and receives a prize which comes from Oriental Trading Company or Trainers Warehouse.
