Are you heading to the ATD 2017 International Conference & Exposition in Atlanta next month? So is Becky Pike Pluth! Join her on Tuesday, May 23 at 3:00 pm for a special presentation on the importance of "spacing" in training.
Do you ever meet someone new only to forget their name moments later? Or run out to the grocery store only to leave without the very item you went looking for? Sometimes our brain “drops” information in the process of moving it from immediate memory to working memory, and then into long-term memory. If that’s true in our everyday lives, it’s especially true in training.
Becky’s presentation, called Why Your Learners Need Space and Time: A "How-to" Improve Learning and Retention will introduce attendees to the concept of “spacing” out content in training to avoid "dropping" information when participants reach information overload. She’ll explore the science of how spacing enhances learning retention and will demonstrate techniques for incorporating spacing methods in your presentations.
During the session, you’ll also have the opportunity to experience spacing techniques for yourself and start creating an action plan for building spacing into the before, during, and after of your next training session. Of course, the whole presentation will model our signature Creative Training Techniques®, so don’t miss it!
