Train-the-Trainer Activity: CTT Quilt

CTT Quilt

Objectives:    Review content

                Celebration

                Motivation

Class Length:      Minimum of one day

Audience:             Any

Group Size:         Teams of six or more

Time:                    15 to 20 minutes

Equipment:          Two sheets of flip-chart paper per team

                             Scissors

                             Masking tape

                             Clear tape

Markers of various colors for each team

Process

Each team hangs one blank sheet of flip-chart paper on the wall. They cut their second sheets into “quilt” pieces. Each team member receives his or her own piece and turns it into a visual representation of one key concept of the training using the markers provided. (Members of the team should check with one another to avoid duplication.)

When the pieces are reassembled by taping them with clear tape to the sheet of paper on the wall, the quilt represents the team’s combined visual efforts at recapturing learning. Participants should also explain to others what their quilt blocks represent.

Note: When introducing this activity, use a title that fits the training like “Conference Quilt, “Skills Training Quilt” or “Enhance Customer Service Quilt.”
