At the end of a content block or session day, give each small group a piece of blank flipchart paper and a different colored marker. Have a group leader divide the sheet into as many equal sections as there are members of the group. Group members must then draw in their space a picture of the most important/useful thing they have learned that day. These sketches are all done simultaneously and in silence and are posted on the wall.
When each chart is complete, each small group member reveals the concept associated with their picture. Group members may help the artist enhance the drawing to make it more easily identifiable to all.
When the groups have finished enhancing the chart, they travel to the next group’s chart and try to identify the concepts depicted. They will place a star in each space that they feel confident identifying. When all groups have visited all charts, the original team members identify the concepts they drew to the entire class.
This activity is a great way to revisit content in a pictorial way to enhance retention.
