Get Ahead by Improving Your Presentation Skills

No matter what your profession or job—manager, salesperson, doctor, quality team member, etc.—you will probably give a presentation of some kind in the next 12 months. How you do it will either raise or lower your credibility and make a difference in your ability to influence others.

For a moment, consider these three questions and their answers:

  • Identify the many presentations that are delivered at your workplace. Sales presentations? Budget? Status reports? Customer presentations?
  • Now think about some poor business presentations you’ve seen. Why were the presentations so ineffective?
  • What are some of the consequences of poorly delivered business presentations?

Whether we thrive on them or not, each of us is likely to have to do some sort of presentation. How well we do that can help us have increased positive impact on the area of discussion and help us stand out in our workplace.

Business Presentation Skills is a two-day workshop designed for those who are either being groomed for management roles, are in management, or are associates who do a lot of presentations and want to improve their results.

This hands-on workshop helps attendees create and deliver a strong and engaging message. The facilitator works with participants to develop a compelling point of view, apply dynamic storytelling principles, analyze presentation formats and flows, along with dozens of other tips for improving presentation effectiveness. Using the principles modeled, each participant will present at least twice and receive peer feedback on what each person did well or could improve. These presentations will also be digitally captured for each participant to personally view and critique.

"Whether we like it or not, many situations require live oral presentations. A live presentation ensures communication of both the sum and substance of the material. It also provides a forum for clearing up any misunderstandings," said Bob Pike, chairman emeritus of The Bob Pike Group."An effective presentation will set you apart in a competitive world by showcasing your knowledge, talent, and abilities and helping you stand out from the rest of the crowd."
