Creative Training Tips from Readers

The following training tips were submitted by readers of The Bob Pike Group’s eZine.

Using quotes creatively

“It's easy to create and attach a little audio file to any Power Point text slide. Let the audience hear the quote in an accented voice, an appropriate gender voice. It's easy to add a side-image box with a photo of the one you're quoting. Anything that adds reality to the words can help leave a deeper impression on the audience.”

Group Dynamics: Getting to Know, Know, Know You…

“While conducting a workshop series I always keep an eye on the dynamics of each of the work groups. Prior to the attendees’ arrival at each workshop session, I will rearrange their name cards so that the group dynamics change on a daily basis.  On occasion, I my change the group after the lunch break to wake everyone up after a filling meal.

“By spending a half or full day with almost all the members of the workshop, the attendees have usually become one well-functioning team. It is fun to watch and a real feeling of accomplishment for a trainer to be able to pull a group of folks together this way.”

It’s impolite to point…

So instead of just pointing with one finger, use two. “It is appears to be less threatening....” and also transfers better into other cultures.
