Better Equipping Managers and High Potential Employees
The Bob Pike Group is working meticulously to create a dynamic suite of programs to develop managers and high potential employees. One of these programs is our recently refined Business Presentation Skills workshop.
“The single most important skill to sharpen for career success and life satisfaction is the skill of speaking effectively in public,” said Rich Meiss, senior training consultant at TBPG. As one client said, “There’s a wide difference between a person’s competence and a person’s effectiveness based on their ability to communicate effectively.”
And our founder was given this advice early in his career: “An excellent presentation of the facts and arguments supporting a mediocre analysis is more likely to be approved than a mediocre presentation supporting a first-class analysis.”
This workshop is designed to help presenters deliver a strong and engaging message while creating awareness around body language, tone and delivery style. The class models participant-centered methods for engaging audiences of all types and will explore the principles of high impact presentations.
The public workshop is a two-day program which is limited to only 12 participants. “There is tremendous emphasis on application, practice, and video as well as self and peer feedback,” Meiss said. “The limited class size is necessary in order to give each participant sufficient practice and feedback time.”
After the workshop, each participant will film and send to the trainer a 15-minute segment of his or her final presentation utilizing methods learned in the classroom. The trainer will review the video and provide detailed verbal and written feedback for the participant during a one-hour conference call via Skype.
In-house customized versions of this workshop also are available, including a three-day program which provides concentrated coaching for up to six participants.
