Step One: PARTICIPATE in a 2-day RCTS session along with 15 to 50 additional participants. Delivered by a BPG Training Consultant. This step can be done either as an on-site or at a public workshop session offered by BPG or a certified partner.
Step Two: OBSERVE a 2nd RCTS workshop from the back of the room and be provided with a Facilitators Kit including a Facilitators Guide and RCTS DVD Modules to review following the program. This step can be done either as an on-site or at a public session.
Step Three: DEBRIEF - Following the 2 day observation step, a BPG Master Trainer (MT) will DEBRIEF the delivery to clarify the content, phrasing, transitions, and activities used throughout the program. This step can be done following an on-site or public session.
Step Four: HOMEWORK AND PRACTICE - Using the learner-centered design principles of RCTS, each person getting certified will each be required to create and submit two lesson plans to the BPG MT for review. Feedback on the lesson plans will be emailed prior to Step Five. At this time, those being certified should start PRACTICING delivering modules to each other.
Step Five: DELIVERY TO SMALL GROUP AND LARGE GROUP
Ø Working in pairs, staff members will co-facilitate an RCTS session in front of a small group and the BPG MT. The BPG MT may observe delivery by each of the staff members and give feedback to ensure content, process and delivery mastery. (Note, the MT may or may not observe this practice delivery depending on the progress of those being certified).
Ø Staff members, working in pairs again, will co-facilitate an RCTS session in front of a larger group and the BPG MT. The MT will provide general feedback throughout the 2 days and then award certifications* as applicable. Recommended workshop size for this final delivery is from 15 to 50 participants.
Ø *The final decision to grant certification will be that of the BPG MT.
