Matchmaker, Matchmaker
July 7, 2010 • By Liz Wheeler
Kimberly Cortz trains state employees on adoptions and how
important due diligence is. "I begin a discussion on adoption matching by
handing out personal ads," Cortz says. She becomes the dating service and every
participant is "single and looking." Without gathering information on her
participants, she randomly hands out ads to every person. After each person has
had a chance to read their ad, she asks for a poll on how well she did on
matching them up. This leads naturally into talking about matching up children
with families.
