Flip Chart as Cheat Sheet

A great flip chart tip I learned years ago was to write information lightly in pencil on the flip chart sheets ahead of time. The audience can't see the notes, but you have access to the information every time you write on the flip chart. The notes can be facts or figures you don't want to try to remember or points you don't want to miss (should you get distracted with another point, answers for questions you might anticipate from the audience, etc.). Another audio-visual tip from back in the good old days, before PowerPoint is to use the cardboard frames on each overhead slide. Besides looking more professional, the frames also provided space to do the same thing—keep notes.
